I kinda specialize in a combo of digital cinema and doc work. Lots of it is very quick turnaround. Trying to squeeze in as much magic as possible in a few days of shooting and even less time in post. Quite often I hear people jabba jaw about RED workflow, how it's tough and so on and so forth. I say - There is a pretty reasonable chance you're doing it wrong. Below are some of my favorite screen grabs from this year (so far). As the action sports season winds to an end I wanted to go through the frames I had pulled throughout the year and make a single post for them. All but one of these images is a frame from video captured on a RED Scarlet-X in 4kHD. None of them have a terrible lot of post work to them. Curves, an unsharp mask and usually that's it. I've had my RED Scarlet since mid January now - Well, at least I've had the brain. It wasn't usable for a few weeks until the 5.0 Touch LCD arrived. Then I had to wait another 2 weeks til parts arrived to make a DIY V-Mount plate  since all the commercial solutions were backordered. Anyway, I've now got 2 solid weeks of 16+ hour days shooting the Scarlet under truthfully the worst camera conditions possible - Rallying. This was shot locally inside a large factory. They create numerous molded plastic parts for the automotive industries. Aerials were used as inserts in a corporate/promotional piece to really bring the production value to the next level. The building had 30ft main ceilings. But various beams, mechanical and other "stuff" varied the height from 15ft and up. Making a solid altitude very difficult. It was also exceptionally hot on the shoot day, more trouble for me keeping sweat out of my eyes than the helicopter.
